Welcome to Lumiere Photographie.
This is a collection of happy moments: weddings, families, travel and food ~ Photography being the common theme across all. I have been using a camera for the longest time and was probably one of the more stubborn ones to resist moving from film to digital. In all honesty, I only bought my first camera back in 2005. Up until then, I was shooting with hand-me-down film cameras (really good ones) and commandeering my wife’s point and shoot and someone’s 21st birthday present (obviously a camera) at parties, weddings and on holidays.
My influences in life my childhood: growing up in 4 different countries definitely adds colour and spice to your life. food: my mum is a kick-ass chef (i can say kick-ass cos this is my playground…sorry mum, I know you raised us better than to use the ‘a’ word). nature: everything begins and ends with God. I love clouds, flying through them has got to be one of the best feelings! I also love the spectrum of colour you get with dramatic sunrises and sunsets: the best ones are those experienced up in the air. I have to credit my dad for this passion for aeroplanes, having spent many hours sitting in the cockpit. I should also make special mention to my siblings, one of which has outgrown the use of his 21st birthday present (he is also one half of Lumiere Photographie) and the other, whom we affectionately refer to as, amongst many other names, Shrek, #2, Godzilla…. and of cos, last but not least, my very supportive wife: who understands my passion for photography and allows me to indulge in my toys.
