Who says no one gets married in Winter? I did, and so did my brother. What’s not to love: cooler temperatures mean the make up doesn’t melt. And for the boys, there are no sweat marks on the shirts ~ this also means you guys smell fresher for longer (the ladies will appreciate that). The only down side is, every so often, Sydney’s normally placid winters become freakishly cold. Frost on grass in the mornings, sheets of ice on cars that have been parked out in the open. Thankfully, Sue Ann and Marty’s wedding day was post-crazy-Sydney-winter-weather. Glorious blue skies with patchy white clouds made for a perfect winter’s day for the lovely couple.
Sue Ann’s day began with the usual hair and make up. Keeping her calm and entertained were the bride’s sisters and also her other bridesmaids ~ all high school best buds from St Catherine’s. I hear Sue Ann and Marty met on a dance floor and the story is that Sue Ann was attracted to Marty’s unique… ahem, style of dancing. If anyone has a video clip of Marty’s dance moves, do send it to me… we could add it to their wedding slideshow! And if I got that story all wrong, well… someone let me know too!
Before we left for the ceremony at the Tearoom, the girls were trying to work out how to pack their not-so-slim phones and their I.D. along with them. They tried stuffing their phones into their dainty clutch bags, but it didn’t quite fit cos they also needed to fit their lippy, parfum and the usual things which girls have in their bags: umbrellas, sewing kit, writing pad, pen, taser, tissue paper, make up…. heheh… just kidding. I did assure them that the new iPhone is smaller in size! Anyways, I’ll leave it to your imagination as to where the eventual ‘hiding spots’ were!
If anyone needs an architect to draw up plans for your very own Burj Al Arab or a simple mansion or small scale chateau, give Marty a bell: Architect by day, break-dancer by night.
Here are some images from the wedding. Hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon guys!
