I can’t believe it’s nearly been a week since we first did their pre wedding shots. This time around Dom had the honour of waking up under the cover of darkness to capture the bride prep. Time check… 0430! Yup… that’s early… but hey, for family, there’s no such thing as “too early”. I got to sleep in for abit more…Yay to that.
By 0930 we were on the road heading towards St Catherine’s. A little history: when I was in high school, all the boys wanted to get to know the St Catherine’s girls….why? Cos they were cool. We were public school boys and they were private school girls that just had this je ne sais quoi quality about them. One guy in particular had the biggest crush on one of the girls ~ it went on for years! For most of us, we never got past the front gate of their school. Anyways, fast forward, lo and behold, Dom marries a St Cath’s girl. First impressions of St Cath’s at Dom’s wedding: WOW…. really…. WOW! That was a tad over 2 yrs ago… so today, it was nice to be able to visit St Catherine’s again… Mrs Sawyer who married Dom and Carol also served as minister to the wedding ceremony. Mrs Sawyer has known Michelle since she was 12. Yup, long time! It was an intimate service… candles, music… yeah, I did say intimate! The trio did a great job with the music and having the wedding ceremony at St Cath’s meant alot to Michelle. Certainly having Clement by her side made it all the more special, not to mention, the flowers for the day were done by Michelle’s bridesmaid and fellow St Catherine’s school mate, Yenny.
A lunch reception followed the chapel service: Ripples at Chowder Bay. Ella and I had the best seat in the restaurant: with the window behind us (hint: for all you foodies, take note). At our table, we also had Shrek and Bob, Winnie and Pascal and Nelson and Mandy: fresh from their honeymoon and overseas wedding. By the way, if anyone spots a suspicious person wearing track suit pants with a hot pair of men’s Gucci shoes especially in the Taree and Newcastle area, do let me know. Better yet, dial ’000′. Nelson’s got his wedding shoes pinched while on honeymoon.
It was a fun filled afternoon with lots of catch ups. High school friends of Michelle, family friends, work mates past and present. A speech by Dom which included tips from a table of newly and not-so newly weds, a slideshow detailing the proposal (it involved hiking up some mountain in designer shoes) and lots of food and wine!
Michelle and Clement will hence forth celebrate 26 June for two BIG reasons: (1) their wedding and (2) Michelle’s birthday! So yeah, no pressure Clement… but you really have your work cut out having to figure out x2 pressies each year on the same day!
Here are the highlights from the day! Thank goodness the forecasted rain never happened! Thank guys for being such a sport and braving the cold yet again….Well, credit to Michelle who took her shoes off to walk in the sand while Clement left his boots shoes on…
The picture truly reflect the happiness of the groom and reached my heart in a very special way.
The wedding pictures can only be expressed in one word: beuatiful!
