I was thinking whether or not to hold this update until after the wedding. But I thought abt it, and thought it would be cruel…hehe… And so, part 2 of Saturday: we met up with Michelle and Clement in the afternoon to do some formal pictorials ~ giving time for Michelle to get her make up done and get refreshed as well. I woke up to “brrrrrrr” *chills* and started the session with a couple of ‘burps’… that’s from eating way too much for brekkie… (thanks mum) there was also a surprise in store for Michelle in particular. Her sister, Carol, was going to surprise her at the shoot. You see, Carol and her husband have been living overseas for the last 6 months. They were due to come back for the wedding later in the week, but quietly, through thoughtful secret squirrel planning which would make Apple proud, they pulled it off and SURPRISED the couple with an early return! *Happiness all round even before the shoot began*
It was good to have Carol there: mainly as entertainment for her sister with jokes and even spontaneous playing of music through the iPhone to ‘set the mood’ for them, and also as assistant to her husband: hold this, stand here…shoot this, make-shift mobile reflector *sighs*… all this after just stepping off an 8 hour overnight flight (albeit in style and comfort, ahem)…*bad husband*
In this post, we’d also like to welcome back to the country, Carol’s husband ~ Shrek’s brother who happens also to be my mother’s son: yup, my brother and the other half of Lumiere. Good to see he hasn’t lost his skills considering he’s been on assignment overseas for awhile. Also got the chance to play with his new toy, very nice! I want one too! It’s also good to see that old habits die hard…ahem, *he knows what I mean*.
We also captured parts of the shoot on video. Dom’s a gadget geek. He’s probably got every tool in the shed when it comes to ‘boys and their toys’. We haven’t spliced the video into the slideshow below, but we’ll definitely incorporate it into the wedding slideshow ~ yes, 2 teasers and a final post for this couple.
Clement and I have been planning this for a couple of months now. I was given a brief that they wanted a “story”. Being the (slightly) imaginative person that I am, I presented a few ideas: ranging from a shoot which involved: Godzilla, Shrek, some fully-sick-WRXs, a traffic-light-windscreen-bum… to one that needed Clement miming to Justin Bieber. Then I realised I wasn’t shooting a Bollywood drama! Boo! Pulling it off would have been so much fun!
Anyways, here’s a short clip from the day! Featuring the lovely couple and a homeless bum. Guess who?
who was the bum? i love the garden photos, great light! good choice of music as well.
hey mindy, the bum is non other than…. my brother.
